The homeowners had a keen interest in sustainable building practices and living. Kala was happy to help incorporate sustainability into their new custom home.

We collaborated with architect Dan Maginn of Dake Wells and the homeowner to incorporate many high performance construction details during the design process to ensure the home was energy efficient, durable, healthy and comfortable.

High Performance Building Components

• Alpen High Performance Windows: Tyrol series (Triple Pane)
• Wall assembly: 2x6 blown fiberglass with Zip R-9 sheathing
• Cladding Stucco and Cedar over rainscreen
• 4” continuous insulation below basement concrete slab and over foundation wall
• R-60 roof insulation
• Airtightness 1 ACH 50 - Aerobarrier used 
• Zehnder ERV
• Heat pump water heater
• Standing seam metal roof
