Reid Brummer

Carpenter

When he graduated from high school, Reid Brummer decided he’d rather learn a trade than go down the traditional college route, so he joined a union and laid pipe for six years. That gave him the funds he needed to start his own decorative concrete company. Interested in exploring other trades, he later joined a company that did high-end interior finishes.

These experiences gave Reid a well-rounded view of the construction process. He first found out about Kala during an event that a friend invited him to. The company’s focus on building durable, healthy, sustainable, and comfortable homes hooked him, and when a carpenter role became available, Reid realized it was the perfect fit.

On weekends, Reid gives his full attention to his son. He also enjoys hunting and fishing with his father and brother.

What does generous mean to Reid?

“Giving more than what's expected or necessary without the expectation of something in return,” Reid said, when asked what it means to be generous. “Whether that be time, kindness, or resources.”
