Chris Blaine was a new addition to our in-house carpentry team in 2024. Don’t take our word for it that he’s a true Renaissance man – his creative accomplishments speak for themselves. After graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute with a bachelor’s degree in traditional and 3D animation, Chris created projects that were recognized at the Kansas City and Phoenix ADDY Awards and by Clearwater Film Festival and LA Film Fest. He also had a documentary air on The History Channel and The Discovery Channel.
Chris is also a talented UX and product designer, specializing in usability design, accessibility, user-centered design, prototyping, design thinking, and illustration. He applies a similar kind of visual creativity to the woodwork in Kala homes. At some stage, Chris is determined to write a book about how to address the issues with art school culture. When he’s not cooking up book ideas or focusing on carpentry for Kala clients, Chris enjoys smoking a wide range of meats and hosting barbecues for his friends and family.
